Using RStudio Cloud in the Classroom

Lucy D’Agostino McGowan and Shannon Ellis recently presented a virtual workshop for introductory statistics instructors (high school or college) that focused on using RStudio Cloud in the classroom. The workshop covered set up, implementation, and tips and tricks for integrating RStudio Cloud into your classroom. RStudio Cloud incorporates R without installation or a complex set-up.

Presenters
McGowan is an assistant professor in the department of mathematics and statistics at Wake Forest University. Her research focuses on causal inference, human-data interaction, and data science pedagogy.

Ellis is an assistant teaching professor in the cognitive science department at the University of California at San Diego, where she teaches data science and programming courses. She helped create Cloud-Based Data Science-a free online educational program that helps anyone who can read, write, and use a computer to move into the data science field.
